10th ASSI title for Bianchetti Luca Mastrostefano reports
On
Saturday night 3 May we had a great squash exhibition at the
Sporting Club Milano 3 in Milan, on the new Italian Glass court
(Luca Mastrostefano and Marco Vercesi of the ML Eventi have bought
the ASB court that was used at the World Open in Bermuda 2007).
Ong Beng Hee (WR10) and Cameron Pilley (WR18) played in a doubles
exhibition match against the top two Italian players Davide
Bianchetti (WR30) and Luca Mastrostefano (WR85). The crowed was well
entertained and delighted that the Italian team won 14-12 in the
fifth.
On 4 May we played on the glass court all the Italian ASSI National
finals 2008. Over 220 players played in the competition.
Davide Bianchetti (Millennium) won the Italian Championship ASSI
(that was also the National CLOSED PSA Championship) category
against Luca Mastrostefano (Brixia Multisport). It’s Davide’s 10th
Italian title, a record.
The new Italian Glass Court will be used in a big PSA and national
event at the beginning of July in a new shopping mall in Lonato (Brescia)
