06-Apr, Final:
Selby scoops Danish title
The final was a quick and painless victory for top seed Daryl Selby
against Simon Rosner, seeded two. Daryl played solid squash and was
in control of all the games. Simon unfortunately made a lot of
unforced errors and was never close to sealing the deal. Only in the
third game did Simon come back but Daryl always had an extra gear if
he needed it.

05-Apr, Semis:
Top two into Herlev final
Top seeds Daryl Selby and Simon Rosner will contest the final of the
Danish Open after both won their semi-finals in straight games.
[1] Daryl Selby
bt [4] Badr Abdel Aziz
12/10, 11/6, 11/3
(37m)
"I'm
pretty happy with the win and I was more comfortable on the glass
court today. Badr is a skilful player with the racket so I had to
keep him running since he's had two tough matches already. So I
played in front of Badr throughout the whole match and made some
good winners. Looking forward to the final tomorrow ...

"It
was a good game and I played well in the beginning. I tried to build
up rallies and do play attacking squash, I needed to win the first
to have a chance to win the match. Daryl played well and was pushing
me around the court and didn't make any unforced errors. He was the
better player today and deserved to win, but I'm happy by reaching
the semi-finals here in Denmark."

[2] Simon Rosner
bt
[Q] Gilly Lane 11/5, 11/7, 11/7
(38m)
"It
was a good semi-final for me, especially since I had a good lead and
didn't stop playing like I've done sometimes top let my opponent
back in the game.
"I played really well in the front today and knew that this was
Gilly's fifth match so he would be a tired, so I tried to take that
to my advantage. I'm glad that I won in three straight games after
yesterday's five-gamer so I'll feel fresh for the final tomorrow.

"Simon
was too good today and he did some great attacking from the front, I
just wish I had some more fuel in my tank to give more.
But overall I'm very pleased with my performance, this is the best
tournament so far for me and a great confidence boost as well."

Badr wins Danish 'Derby'
Sweden's Badr Abdel Aziz ended home hopes in Herlev as he
beat local favourite Morten Sorensen in three close games to reach
the semi-finals, where he will face England's top seed Daryl
Selby.
German second seed Simon Rosner survived a nailbiter against
Steve Coppinger, winning 18/16 in the fifth, and meets surprise
semi-finalist Gilly Lane after the American beat third-seeded
Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet in four games.

03-Apr, Round One:
Local hero Sorensen scores
popular Danish Open upset
Unseeded Dane Morten Sorensen delighted the local crowds on
the opening day of the Danish Open when he upset seventh seed Ben
Ford to take an unexpected place in the quarter-finals.
The 28-year-old from Copenhagen battled for 45 minutes to defeat
Englishman Ford and will now face fellow Scandinavian Badr Abdel
Aziz for a place in the semis. Aziz, the fourth seed from
Sweden, survived an 85-minute marathon against Clinton Leeuw before
prevailing against the unseeded South African.
US qualifier Gilly Lane also had cause for celebration: The
22-year-old from Philadelphia recovered from a game down to beat
eighth-seeded Frenchman Romain Tenant to set up a further French
clash with third seed Mathieu Castagnet.
Qualifying over in Herlev
Michael Bisch reports
Gilly Lane started of like a rocket in his match against
Stuart Crawford and didn't give the Scot any chance to get in to
his game plan. After two quick games Stuart came back a little but
was always 2 or 3 points behind the young American.
Jens Schoor and Chris Truswell started their match at
a solid good speed and were back to back in the beginning of each
game, but as soon as Chris went for a shot to the front too early
Jens was lethal, hitting low cross courts with the second
bounce in the nick. Some easy mistakes from Chris gave Jens the
advantage in the end of each game and in the end the match.
Jaymie Haycocks looked pretty strong in his match against
Austrian Jakob Dimberger, who had played a tough five-gamer
the day before. It looked like it was going to be a easy straight
games victory for Jamie after winning the second game 11-0. But
Jakob came back pretty strong and pushed Jaymie in the third, but in
the fourth Jakob's hard push from the earlier game came straight
back at him and his legs felt heavy.
Last match of the night was local player Rasmus Nielsen
against Aqeel Rehman from Austria. Two very physically strong
players battled it out in a marathon match, with Rasmus coming out
victorious with a lot of support from the home crowd that gave him a
morale boost at the important stages of the match.
