Elriani and Kawy in
Greenwich Final ...

England's top seed and defending champion Linda Elriani reached the final of the Greenwich Open with a four game victory over compatriot Alison Waters. A far cry from yesterday's whitewash of Pamela Nimmo, Elriani was tested by Waters in all four games before Elriani's experience told.

Her opponent in the final will be Egypt's world junior champion Omneya Abdel Kawy, who completed a third consecutive straight games win in beating Englan's fourth seeded Jenny Tranfield.

21-Jan, Quarters:
Waters wipes out Botwright

England's Alison Waters began the New Year where she left off the old - upsetting a higher-ranked player to take up an unexpected place in the later rounds of a WISPA World Tour event.

A month after dismissing top ten player Omneya Abdel Kawy in the first round of the World Open, the 20-year-old world No24 from London despatched third seed Vicky Botwright, the world No9,in straight games to reach the semi-finals.

Eighth seed Waters now faces top-seeded compatriot Linda Elriani, the defending champion from Eastbourne in Sussex, who secured an emphatic 9-0 9-0 9-0 victory over Scotland's seventh seed Pamela Nimmo.

The other semi-final will feature Egypt's No2 seed Omneya Abdel Kawy and England's fourth seed Jenny Tranfield - both of whom defeated their quarter-final opponents in straight games.
