Shahier outlasts Joey
Shahier
and Joey played an amazing final which lasted well over two hours. Joey
put up a great fight in the 37-minute fourth game, saving seven match
balls to force a deciding fifth.
Shahier stayed composed and pulled through. Both players gave all they had
and produced squash of a very high level.
Without resorting to the record books, this is almost certainly the
longest match ever recorded since PSA introduced scoring to 11, beating
Shahier's previous 132m record in the Santa Barbara final of 2005 ...
22-Jul, Semis:
Top Two in Houston Final
Top
seed Shahier Razik reached the final of the Houston Open, ending
the run of unseeded Frenchman Julien Balbo in four games, and will meet

forced to retire early in the fourth game after struggling with injury. |

Sadiq
Stuns Bedore in Houston
Houston club pro Muhammed Sadiq created the upset in qualifying for
the Houston Open, beating Canada's qualifying top seed Patrick Bedore to
advance to the main draw.
To the delight of the local crowd Sadiq more than held his own with Bedore,
and played some brilliant squash to take the last game 11/0. Sadiq's
reward is a meeting with another Canadian, top seed Shahier Razik. |
