RSE’s squash section has become one of the most important factors of
the Hungarian squash scent in the past two years.
It has established broad international relations as well as managing
to gain the support of strong local sponsors.
Thanks to its excellent performance RSE became the biggest and most
successful Hungarian squash association.
It
has won the Hungarian Cup and the Hungarian Team Championships for
the past two years thanks to its top Hungarian and international
players. At the ECC in
Paderborn in 2005 it managed to enter into Hungarian sport’s
history by winning the silver medal, the first ever Hungarian team
to achieve this. The team suffered only one loss, in the final to
the German defending champions.
The two Hungarian players of the silver medalist team were:
András Török, member of the Hungarian national team since
1995, eight times Hungarian Champion, ranked 85th on the PSA
ranking, and Márton Szabóky, member of the Hungarian senior
team since 2001, two times Hungarian University Champion, ranked
129th on PSA ranking.

Thorough team building contributed to RSE’s success as such a good
result would not have been achievable without very strong foreign
players.
This is why the RSE management decided to sign up several top
foreign players, all of them with high positions on the PSA ranking
- Frenchmen Grégory Gaultier and Julien Balbo, and
England's Joey Barrington.
As an effort to participate more actively in the international
squash life RSE will organize a PSA competition in 2006 and
will present a bid for organizing the European Club Championships
in 2007.
Organizers will be able to provide for an ideal venue,
professionalism and wide media coverage for the event.
