The Crystal Ball predicts a 3-2
But as Brian Hargrave goes inside the final, it fails to say which way it will go ...
Defending
champions Manchester/Pontefract
will start as favourites but Wolverhampton
must be confident that if their two most experienced players Alex Gough and Mark Cairns produce the goods on the
night the final rubber involving Lee
Beachill (world No 2) and Anthony
Ricketts (world No 7) could be the fitting end to a NL season
which has attracted several full houses.
The neutrals will certainly be hoping that it will go down to the wire
and if so the in form Anthony Rickets will be fancying his chances
against the World No 2.
For this to happen it will probably need the wily Alex Gough to upset
the flair of young James Willstrop.
Mark Cairns must have a chance of beating Nick Taylor but the other two
rubbers seem destined to go in favour of the defending champions.
Marcus Berrett has had another
outstanding season and should have too many shots in his locker for Scott Handley.
Unless she has an off night Jenny
Duncalf should have the beating of Shelley Kitchen.
May the best team win but no one south of the Pennines would begrudge
Wolverhampton manager Stephen Russell his moment of glory
