26-Mar, Finals:
Adnan & Hawkes take NSC titles

Mohd Nafiizwan Adnan gave Malaysia a home winner in the fourth of the NSC series events in Kuala Lumpur, winning a see-saw five-game final against Pakistan's Bilal Zaman.

The win marks Adnan's third PSA title, all claimed in the NSC series.

In the women's final New Zealand's top seed Jaclyn Hawkes survived an attempted comeback from Joshna Chinappa, eventually winning 9/1, 9/2, 10/8 to claim her second WISPA title, three years after her first success  in South Australia.

25-Mar, Semis:
Zaman walks into final as Hawkes survives marathon

Bilal Zaman became the fist player to reach the finals at the NSC, granted a walkover as third-seeded Aussie Mike Corren was forced to withdraw with a back injury. He's also out of the Satellite #3 event, for which he was top seed.

The three semi-finals that were played all went to a deciding game. Nafiizwan Adnan prevented an all-Pakistan final as he overcame Bilal Zaman, while in the women's semis top seed Jaclyn Hawkes had to come from behind twice to beat fellow-Kiwi Louise Crome in 85 minutes.

Hawkes meets Joshna Chinappa in the final after the Indian number one ousted second seed Sharon Wee for one of the best wins of her career.

24-Mar, Quarters:
Pakistanis take out
top seeds in KL

The latest - and biggest - event in the 2008 NSC series saw both men's top seeds crash out at the quarter-final stage at the National Squash Centre in Malaysia.

New Zealand's Kashif Shuja and Germany's Simon Rosner both suffered five-game defeats at the hands of Shamsul Islam Khan and Bilal Zaman respectively. Khan now faces Malaysia's Nafiizwan Adnan for a place in the final while Zaman meets Aussie veteran Mike Corren.

No such troubles for the women's top seeds. Jaclyn Hawkes eased past Lim Woke Yah but third seed Louise Crome had to come from two games down against Delia Arnold to set up an all-Kiwi semi-final.

Second seed Sharon Wee meets India's Joshna Chinappa  - who upset fourth-seeded Line Hansen in the quarters - in the other semi-final.

"I've been carrying a back injury since before the 'series' began in February, and due to playing with the injury I have got myself a tear in the lower back.

"There is nothing to gain from playing except aggravating the injury some more."
