EXETER TAKE THE SUPER LEAGUE TITLE FOR A 2nd SUCCESSIVE YEAR
Exeter clinched the Super League title for the 2nd year in successive year when they took on and beat Martlesham 3-0 in Exeter last night.

David Palmer beat Peter Barker (3-1) 11/ 13 9/6 10/8 9/3 (46 minutes)
Stewart Boswell beat Daryl Selby (3-1) 6/9 11/9 9/0 9/3 (44 minutes)
Cameron Pilley beat Lee Drew (3-0) 9/4 9/6 9/1 (25 minutes)
Cameron Pilley v Lee Drew
Cameron started dominantly and took a five point lead before Lee got his first point with a stroke. Cameron played more steady squash to close the first game out 9-4 Lee started the second with two rollers and a great tight drop to take the early advantage, 3-0. Cameron got back into the game with a great Taxi, before Lee rolled another. A slight argument over an out call gave Cameron a second wind. Lee quickly blew that out and sent a tight boast in for a winning point. 5-3. Both players exchanged straight tight winners before another trade mark winning boast from Cameron. A mistake from Lee and a body serve into Lee’s head gave Cameron the advantage. 7-6. Two more mistakes gave Cameron a 2-0 lead. The third started with a mistake from Lee volleying into the tin, a back wall nick serve 2-0. More dominant squash gave Cameron the third and the match 3-0. 94 96 91 25 mins
Stewart Boswell v Daryl Selby
Selby started well and dug in to win a scrappy first game 9-6.
Boswell started the second strongly and after a couple of marathon rallies followed by winning slap shots by Selby the score was 5-3. A well constructed rally by Boswell forced a stroke, followed by a mistake, 7-3 Boswell. Cross court nick to give Boswell a game, and Championship title point. Seleby dug in well and forced his way to game ball 9-8, long rally 9-9 followed by mistake off the serve by Selby gives Boswell his 5th game ball. Selbys back wall boast falls short and gives the game and the championship to Exeter. Selby went walk about in the third, 9-0 The 4th went the same way, Boswell was dominant and it looked like Daryl had spent too much energy in the second. Boswell duly finished it off to clinch the match 3-0. 9-3 in the third 44mins
David Palmer v Peter Barker
Barker started the strongest and hit a number of winners; Barker finished the game the strongest and closed it out. Palmer was not to be underestimated in the second and dominated the T. He focused well and sent Barker to all corners of the court; despite some fantastic retrieving Palmer won the second 9-6 to level the match. The Third and fourth were exhibition stuff, with both player playing in great spirit but still with a competitive edge. Both player got, and deserved the standing ovation they received. This brought to an end a great match and a great season.
