Guidelines for Sending Results

We're delighted to receive results from tournaments all over the world, and we're happy to publish them so that everyone can keep up to date.

To make it easier all round, here's a few guidelines to producing the results "as we like them" ...

Why the Fuss?

We're sorry to be fussy, and apologise if we're stating the obvious, but if you send your results in any other format we're going to have to retype or convert them, which a) wastes both our time and b) leads to mistakes.

DOs & DONT'S

DON'T
Put the loser first
A v B   6/11 6/11 6/11

DO
say who won, just to be sure
A bt B  11/6, 11/6, 11/6

DON'T
Try 'clever' scores such as
(6), 9, (8), 5, 7
just type them out

DON'T
bother with the 3/0, 3/1, eg
X bt Y 3/0  9/6, 9/4, 9/4
just the game scores are enough

DO
Use slashes and commas
to make it readable
11/7, 7/11, etc

DO
tell us of any draw changes

SEND YOUR RESULTS

results@squashsite.co.uk

(in fact, anything
before the @ will work,
so just remember the name
of the site and we'll get it)

FORMAT OF RESULTS:

Our preferred format is as follows:

[seed] Winner (Country) bt [seed] Loser (Country) score
eg;
[1] Amr Shabana (Egy) bt [2] David Palmer (Aus) 11/6, etc

Format of Scores:
Please quote scores in full, such as

11/6, 9/11, 11/4, 11/9    or   9/6, 8/10, 9/3, 10/9

Times:
If possible include the match time after the score (63m)
Match times are the total duration, from the first serve to the end of the match, NOT just adding up the individual game times.

QUALIFYING:

Because PSA draws are done on-site we have no way of knowing who all the players are in advance, so for qualifying results please:

* include all players, even those who have byes
* include their countries, especially for 'locals'
* put the results in DRAW order, so we know who plays who next

and .... very important ...

* after final qualifying tell us who they play in the main draw, including any drop-outs / lucky losers

As you've probably guessed, all the above points are
common mistakes!

SENDING THE DRAWS:

By and large, we only need the draw once, after that we'll update our own versions, so please consider sending just the day's results as text if that's convenient.

If you do send your draw each time, consider a version without logos as these can really bump up the filesize.
