All-French Final in Barcelona
A French winner was guaranteed at the Rocafort Open in Barcelona,
after Julien Balbo and Yann Perrin won through their semi-finals.
Balbo, the top seed, recovered from losing the first game to John
Rooney, eventually seeing off the Irishman in just over the hour.
Fourth-seeded Perrin upset New Zealand's second seed Martin Knight
in straight games.
In the final it was the higher-ranked Balbo who emerged
victorious.

I just lost a close match…
We played a good match, although I made a few errors too many !
Not sure about the 12 midday start, as we had two matches the day
before. Legs were heavy for both of us…
Anyway, still very happy with my tournament.

The tournament is now over. I had to win here, I had to confirm my
French ranking, so it’s a very positive result.
Those tournaments set over three days are extremely demanding
physically, and I’m looking forward to going home to rest.
