Krajcsak stays on course
After
the carnage of the first day Hungary's Mark Krajcsak, the
only seed to reach the quarter-finals, stayed on course to claim his
third PSA title as he beat qualifier Siddarth Suchde in an hour-long
three game match.
Krajcsak now faces Sweden's Badr Abdel Aziz who ousted local
wildcard Jose Facchini, also in straight games.
The top half of the draw featured two marathon matches. English
qualifier Joe Lee overcame Steve Coppinger 17/15 in the fifth
after an hour and a half of squash, while unseeded Dutchman Tom
Hoevenaars came from 2/1 down to beat French qualifier Joan
Lezaud in 81 minutes.
09-Apr, Round One:
Seeds scattered in Rome
It was a bad day for the seeded players in Rome as just one of the
top eight players made it through to the quarter-finals.
Top seeds Dylan Bennett fell to unseeded Steve Coppinger, second
seed Stacey Ross couldn't stop wildcard Jose Facchini advancing, and
three qualifiers - Joe Lee, Siddarth Suchde and Joan Lezaud - all
beat their higher-ranked opponents.
Of the seeded players only Hungary's Mark Krajcsak remains, and the
third sees becomes the new tournament favourite.
