Squash Theatre
We don't hear much squash news from Indonesia, but we just received
a note about a new squash facility there which is called the "Squash
Theatre" - you only have to look at the photos to see why.
Located in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia, it was
designed by architect Benny Dhanio, IAI. The venue consists
of three standard squash courts and one main glass court.
The modern architectural design features a gentle curved roof with
space-frame supports, which covers a seating capacity of 500 people
with comfortable air-conditioning.
The venue has been the successful host of the squash games during
the Indonesian National Games (Pekan Olahraga Nasional) July 2008,
organised by the Indonesian Squash Federation. |
