03-June, Day One:
Top Two through in Surrey

Top seeds Stacey Ross and Steve Meads are through to the semi-finals of the 9 Telecom Surrey Open at St George's Hill, after both beat England Juniors - Tom Pashley and Joe Lee - in the evening quarter-finals.

Both thirty-something stars face further youthful opposition in the semis - Ross meets Zimbabwe's Jesse Engelbrect while Meads takes on St George's own Tom Richards.

All four recorded straight-game quarter-final wins, with Richards hardest pushed by another promising newcomer, 19-year-old Obaid Jahan, brother of Pakistan and England legend Hiddy, some 37 years his senior!

It's all going to plan in the women's event too, as Carla Khan and Suzie Pierrepont advance to their expected meeting in the final ...

31-May:
Ross Top Seed for
Nine Telecom Surrey Open

The Nine Telecom Surrey Open Squash Championships take place at St Georges Hill LTC, East Road, Weybridge, Surrey the weekend of 3rd and 4th June.

Top seed in the Men's event is Surrey's own Stacey Ross (World Ranked 45) with former World top ten player Steve Meads seeded two.

Local lads Tom Richards and Joe Lee from the home club are seeded three and eleven respectively in a high class field that includes two Chinese, two Pakistanis and one Zimbabwean, Byfleet based Jesse Englebrecht.

The ladies draw is headed by Carla Khan, grand-daughter of the legendary Azam Khan. Seeded to meet Carla in the final is the Brighton player Suzie Pierrepont.

Spectators welcomed ...
