Peter
Nicol, MBE (born April 5, 1973 in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire), is
a former professional squash player from the United Kingdom, who
represented first Scotland and then England in international squash.
In 1998, while still competing for Scotland, he became the first
player from the UK to hold the World No. 1 ranking.
During his career, he won one World Open title, two British Open
titles, and four Commonwealth Games Gold Medals. He is widely
considered to be one of the most outstanding international squash
players of his time.
Alison Waters of SSRC – British National Women’s Squash
Champion 2008 - started playing squash when she was five at
Southgate Squash & Racketball Club, watching her Mum, Dad and
brother Steve playing. She loved watching so much that she wanted to
join in, so things took off from there and Alison started playing
regularly and really enjoyed it.
Mum (Robin) used to run the Saturday afternoon coaching sessions for
juniors at Southgate. Alison has played in the gold-winning England
Teams in European, Commonwealth and World Championships – visiting
many countries. |
