#10: Tania Bailey                                 FULL WISPA PROFILE

Who lit your squash spark? My parents played in the teams for my local club and they took me to a junior coaching morning when I was nine. From then on I had regular coaching every week and began playing all the junior tournaments around the country, my older brother (Mark) also played a bit but he wasn't as keen as me and just plays for fun now.
Always squash, or could you have competed in another sport? I also competed in athletics events and played netball and football when I was younger. I like most sports and play golf now when I can.
What do you hate most about training? Warming up and stretching. Both!
The best thing about being an international player? The feeling you get when you have achieved something you have worked hard for. And obviously seeing all the different countries and meeting all sorts of people.
Your favourite place to play events? I haven't really got a favourite place, there are so many places I have enjoyed for all different reasons, like the people, the setting, the weather, how well I have done there. I really liked playing next to the pyramids though as it was so different to anywhere else. But also really enjoy Rio, Qatar, Melbourne, Hong Kong, Salt Lake, New York.
Filling in time before matches? Nothing exciting really, reading, watching dvds, going for a walk, eating, doing laundry!
Squash superstitions? none.
The worst thing about travelling? Carrying bags as they are usually really heavy; and waiting for flights.
Your travelling entertainment provider? Books, magazines, laptop.

Pizza or pasta? I eat more pasta than pizza but like both.
Tea or coffee? Green and white tea.
Fruit or chocolate? Fruit but maybe when I finish playing it will be chocolate.
Just finished reading? Mitch Albom, For One More Day.
The album you listen to most? Right now the song I listen to most is Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol but I don't really have a favourite album.
How many texts sent each day? Depends where I am, if I am away I send maybe 5 to 10, sometimes more, and when I am home I usually send less.
Sporting event you would most like to go to? I would really like to go and watch Manchester United in the Champions League final.
Dinner with any sports person past or present? Tiger Woods or Kelly Holmes.
Glass half full or half empty? Generally I am positive about things but it sometimes changes depending on how things are going at the time. I hate it when people moan a lot though about things that are not important.
Your life so far, one thing you would change? I wouldn't want to change anything as I am really happy right now.
Plans for the future? I would like to continue playing for at least the next five years and then I want to have kids and then work within squash or sport in some way.
