#5: Manuela Manetta                          FULL WISPA PROFILE

Who lit your squash spark? I started to play squash when I was at school, teacher used to take us playing squash once a week.
Always squash, or could you have competed in another sport? I have been doing basketball, tennis, ski. If I wasn't playing squash I would have probably chosen tennis, as after squash, that is my favourite sport.
What do you hate most about training? There is nothing I hate about training right now because I am really keen! If I had to pick something, ok I would say court sprints!!
The best thing about being an international player? First of all I get the chance of doing the thing I love the most everyday and anywhere in the world! I have got the possibility of learning a new language, I meet new people and new cultures and I think that's great!
Your favourite place to play events? Qatar, New York.. people look after us very well. I find Qatar the most interesting country I ever been, culture, people, food... and New York I think it's just amazing itself.
Filling in time before matches? I prefer to chat to my friends, or to spend time on internet, but also ipod comes in useful.
Squash superstitions? None.
The worst thing about travelling? I get to travel almost every time on my own so that's not very enjoyable for me, plus I think the panic of not getting the bags at the airport is pretty bad too! Jet lag!!
Your travelling entertainment provider? ipod, magazines... and yes I swear they are not all about gossip!!

Pizza or pasta? Pizza forever, I eat it at least 3 times a week, the Italian one... only do not get confused with others country's pizza!
Tea or coffee? Coffee espresso.
Fruit or chocolate? Chocolate ice cream.
Just finished reading? Vanity Fair, Focus.
The album you listen to most? Madonna, Confession on a Dance Floor, Snow Patrol.
How many texts sent each day? It really depends.. when I am abroad, definitely too many, when I am at home it is just much easier to call people!
Sporting event you would most like to go to? The final of the soccer World Cup... especially when Italy wins!!! Roland Garros too.
Dinner with any sports person past or present? Amelie Mauresmo, Michael Jordan, Michael Schumacher.
Glass half full or half empty? Half full... optimist but realistic.
Your life so far, one thing you would change? I would change nothing in my life at the moment. Myself and my family are happy... I have anything I need and I have great people that are part of my life everyday.
Plans for the future? To reach the top 15 in the world, at least! I would love to live in NY for a couple of years at some point. Have kids!
