#12: Tenille Swartz                            FULL WISPA PROFILE

Who lit your
squash spark?
I come from a squash family, but it was mostly my dad who introduced me to the game.
Always squash, or could you have competed in another sport? I competed in a few sports like: athletics (hurdles) swimming and netball, but squash was always my favourite.
What do you hate most about training? I can't really think of anything I hate, but if I had to say it would be always having to warm down and stretch after a session.
The best thing about being an international player? Meeting different people and also seeing the world.
Your favourite place
to play events?
I haven't been to many places so I don't have a favourite one yet. Hopefully I will get to see many more places and then find my favourite country or place to play squash at.
Filling in time
before matches?
I normally stretch as much as I can on the day of a match and I try to keep myself busy with reading or something.
Squash superstitions? No superstitions at all !!!!
The worst thing
about travelling?
I really do not like airports and even less the security checks. My worst fear is losing my passport or handbag with all my money and cards in it, because I am a bit absent minded sometimes :]
Your travelling entertainment provider? I always have three things in my handbag, my ipod, my sudoku and Bible.

Pizza or pasta? Pasta.
Tea or coffee? I prefer coffee.
Fruit or chocolate? Both are really good, but I have to go with fruit, its better for the weight and sport.
Just finished reading? Reading ‘’ Your Best Life Now’’ by Joel Osteen and just finished with ‘’Heaven Is So Real’’ by Choo Nam Thomas.
The album you
listen to most?
I do not listen to a specific album, I like to listen to different kinds of music, but DO NOT make me listen to Heavy Metal, rave or hard rock or any of that heavy stuff.
How many texts
sent each day?
Well, back in SA about 20-30 everyday, but while away in a foreign country, not even 5 I think.
Sporting event you would most like to go to? Most definitely the rugby World Cup next year, I just love the game!
Dinner with any sports person past or present? Ryk Neethling, he is a SA swimmer and an Olympic Champion. I really look up to him.
Glass half full
or half empty?
Half full, I am an optimist and I believe life is what you make of it!
Your life so far, one thing you would change? I am really enjoying it but if I had to change one thing it would be to see my family and friend more!
Plans for the future? If all goes well it is playing squash for ten more years and then I have a lot of other goals and dreams I want to achieve. But that can also change as one gets older, so for now and hopefully many years to come its just squash.
