Berkhamsted PSA/WSA Challengers 2012
18th/19th August
South East Challenge series
continues in balmy Berkhamsted

Adam Fuller reports

On the hottest day of the English year so far players ascended on Berkhamsted to do battle. There were a few long matches today and at times it looked like racketball but the club members loved every minute of it.

The crowd came out in force to watch their local interest as ‘master took on pupil’ with Adam Fuller and Harry Faulkner meeting in the first round. Lucky for Adam, he managed to close out each game but he was pushed every step on the way.

Dan Hockborn was involved in a few tough matches today managing beat Nick Mulvey first but coming unstuck to top seed Mike Harris.

Angus Gillams was hoping push Richie Fallows but always looked uncomfortable on court today much to his disappointment.

Richie went on to play Ollie Holland who looks in good form and will be looking forward to his semi final encounter with Mike Harris tomorrow.

Jamie Matthews completes the semi final line up against Berkhamsted's  own Adam Fuller.

As for the ladies matches there were comfortable wins for Katie Smith and Anna Kimberley. Emily Heyes and Gina Kennedy were pushed a little harder but are safely through.
