COAS International 2012
17-22 Apr, Islamabad, Pakistan, $12k
Aamir wins fourth COAS Crown

Top seed Aamir Atlas Khan defeated defending champion Nasir Iqbal in the final of the COAS International in Pakistan to win the title at the Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad for the fourth time.

Iqbal, the 18-year-old world No140 from Peshawar, had carried on where he left off last year - upsetting seeds in both the quarter and semi-finals to reach the final against expectation for the second year in a row.

But Atlas Khan, the 21-year-old world No32 and highest-ranked player in Pakistan, was too strong for the teenager - winning in straight games to repeat his title triumphs of 2008, 2009 and 2010.

Its a great feeling to win a title at home, Aamir told The Express Tribune. I havent been doing well in international events so I take this as a consolation.

But I must appreciate Iqbals game. Hes extremely fit and is next in line to be among the top players of the country. Winning this final is not really a big deal since Im much more experienced than Iqbal. But it is a great start especially right before the British Open.

The success marks the seventh PSA title of Khan's career.
