Rodriguez doubles up in Brazil
Colombian’s world No27 Miguel Angel Rodriguez secured the
$15,000 PSA Enjoy Squash Tour 2009 title for the first time with a
three-game victory at the expense of a tired-looking home hero
Rafael F. Alarcon of Brazil in the final at Mackenzie Esporte Clube
in Belo Horizonte.
Playing with controlled aggression and at times volatile exhibition
of forehand smashes, Rodriguez won 11/9, 13/11, 12/10 in a match
that lasted 51 minutes. It wasn't an easy match as Rodriguez had to
brave tie-breaks in games two and three to win his 12th PSA title.
"It was a tight match, but I am glad I've managed to win this one"
Rodriguez said after the pulsating match. "It could have gone
anywhere since both of us played tough in the second and third
games. I was a bit fortunate on some of the points, but I think I
did well enough to win," said the Colombian.
"I tried to put him under pressure but I wasn't feeling well in my
legs." said the world No47 and nine-times Brazilian champion. "Of
course I am disappointed of losing at home twice to the same guy, in
the final match, but I guess Miguel deserved to win since he played
a better level of squash than I did. I need to work on my fitness in
the next tournaments," added Rafael after his second PSA Tour final
appearance on two weeks.

THE FRENCH CORNER...

Bon voilà j ai encore perdu contre Rodriguez j'ai pas mal joué mais
j'étais un peu moins bien pshysiquement!!
Bref peut-être que si je prends le 1er cela aurait changé la donne...
En tout cas 2 bonnes semaines avec du bon squash!! Enfin..
Maintenant repos vacances famille!!

Fram, Un petit mot pour ce 2ème tournoi au Bresil!!
Ben comme t'as pu le voir on s'est retrouvé tous les deux avec Jojo
à jouer ensemble comme par harsard...
Bref c'est jamais évident lorsqu'en plus on vient ensemble, on reste
et on s'entraîne ensemble durant ces deux semaines en sachant qu'on
va se jouer, c'est pas facile!! Pour ma part ,j étais un peu tendu
mais je pense qu on a pas fait un pas trop mauvais match!!
Aujourd'hui j ai pas fait un super match mais cela a été suffisant!!
Il va falloir faire une tout autre prestation demain contre
Rodriguez!!
