Double triumph for top seeds England

Top seeds in both events, England duly collected both gold medals on the final day of action in Prague. The U15 team comfortably beat Hungary, but in the U17 final it went down to the wire with Matthew Sidaway pulling out a 3-2 victory in the decider to finally quell the challenge of France.

Thu U15 bronze medal went to Israel, whose 2-1 win over Finland marked Israel's best-ever finish in an international squash event, while Belgium claimed third place in the U17 event with a 2-1 win over Germany.

06-May:
Scots & Irish rules out by Volcano

The European U15&U17 Teams Championships in Prague suffered their first casualties yesterday when the Scottish and Irish teams were forced to pull out after renewed problems with the Icelandic Volcano Ash Cloud forced their flights to the Czech Republic to be repeatedly cancelled. They eventually had to give up the efforts to get there.

Hopefully the other teams arrived safely in time for the start of competition today ...
