Qualifying for November's Kuwait Open takes place at St George's Hill in Surrey, with 32 players vying for one of eight available main draw places.

Round one saw some marathon matches, just as in yesterday's Saudi qualifying, with Alan Clyne, Karim Abdel Gawad, Nafiizwan Adnan, Steve Coppinger and Robbie Temple all pulling off significant upsets.

Finals day, well, Steve on a plane off to Egypt to cover the Women's World, so Fram typing in, with what could have been the upset of the day, Robbie Temple leading 2/0 against Ali Anwar Reda. Unfortunately, accident in the 3rd, 6/6, Robbie got hit on the chin, managed somehow to win the point, gets 1 hour for contributed injury, comes back on court after 40mn, but just cannot compete. Bad luck, Robbie. Really bad luck.

Saurav confirms his good form by beating Mister FiveSetter Alan Clyne, this time in 4... Abdel Aziz just three games to oust Steve Coppinger...

Ryan Cuskelly
stops the advance of the young Karim Gawad, I'm told last point on a conduct stroke, whatever happened there, we don't have the info yet.... But it was obviously a tough match, 93mn for only 4 games...

Mohamed AbbasA bit of a good three days for Gentleman Abbas, he qualifies for the Worlds against
Clinton Leeuw in 4 and yesterday, Campbell just couldn't finish the game. Today, they must have played on the glass court, surely, 40mn against Joey Barrington, that can't happen on a traditional court.

Sorry for Joey, but truly delighted to see one of the nicest, fairest players on the circuit making a comeback after sooooo many injuries.

Talking of injuries, how GREAT it is to see Borja Golan back??? As you all know, the number 1 Spanish player, that got up to no10 in the world, got a nasty surgery on his knee that kept him a year away from the courts. Last week, he qualified and got to the final of the Irish Open to lose probably logically against Azlan, but qualified for the Worlds and again for Kuwait today by beating Aaron who basically got the short straw.... Still, that's excellent news for the Tour to have Mr Borja back.

Nicholas MuellerNicky Mueller beats the man in form Tom Richards, in a short match. As those two luuuuve attacking, I guess there weren't too many up and down the wall rallies, bless them.

But the Palm of the Day for the "how can I lose as much energy possible on a squash court" award goes to...
Mark Krajcsak who eventually gets the better of Nafiizwan Adnan - call him Wan, like we do - in a nice 109 minutes match, 11/8 in the 5th.
