It was an all-American final at Berwyn Squash for the conclusion of the $5k
WSA Liberty Bell Open.
Sabrina Sohby, younger sister of former world junior champion Amanda,
played great to upset the #1 seed Maria Toor Pakay in the semi Final. Maria
looked tired as Sabrina steamed through the last two games to win in five.
In the Final it looked like Sabrina was going to pull off another upset
after winning the first two games against second seed Olivia Blatchford,
who had enjoyed two straight-game wins to reach the final.
Olivia however had other ideas and showed great determination. A little
shift in tactics and Olivia pulled her though a very close third game to win
11-9, then she pulled clear to win in five to claim her second career WSA
title.

Coucou fram,
Un pti mot pour donner des news de Philadelphie où je faisais mon
premier WSA de l'année.
Malheureusement je perds 3/2 11/9 au 5e contre Georgina Stoker que
je connais très bien car on a fait toutes nos années junior
ensemble. C'était un 1er tour assez dur surtout qu'elle jouait dans
son club, là où elle entraîne depuis septembre. Alors je pense que
ça l'a poussé et elle était en folie tout comme la foule qui la
supportait ;)
Je pense qu'on a fait un bon match, très agréable à jouer et très
tendu en meme temps du début à la fin avec seulement deux petits
points pour nous séparer.
Je suis bien évidemment frustrée d'avoir perdu au 1er tour mais pas
déçue car j'ai tout donné, j'ai bien joué, mais c'est pas passé. Ds
ces matchs la, ça peut basculer d'un côté comme de l'autre... À
charge de revanche!
L'année vient seulement de commencer alors on oublie et on passe à
la prochaine étape qui sera les qualifications pour le tableau d'un
10000$ à Wilmington dans le Delaware.
