Selby & Kemp In
All-English Manitoba Final

Top seeds Daryl Selby and Jonathan Kemp will meet in an all-English final of the Winnipeg Building & Decorating Ltd Manitoba Open after straight game wins in the semi-finals at Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club in Winnipeg, Canada.

Selby, the world No25 from Essex, despatched New Zealand's No7 seed Martin Knight 11-6, 11-7, 11-7 to reach the eighth PSA final of his career - and the second in Canada this year.

Second seed Kemp, currently ranked 13 places lower in the world than his national rival, also faced a surprise last four opponent when he defeated local hope David Phillips, the eighth seed from Montreal, 11-9, 11-7, 12-10.

Kemp is celebrating his seventh appearance in a Tour final - and, like Selby, has previously only finished as runner-up once before in his career!

12-Mar, Round One:
Canadians Advance In Manitoba

Shawn Delierre and David Phillips carried home interest through to the last eight of the Winnipeg Building & Decorating Ltd Manitoba Open after surviving the first round at Winnipeg Squash Racquet Club in Winnipeg, Canada.

Delierre, the third seed who is ranked 63 in the world, defeated compatriot Tyler Hamilton, a qualifier from Dundas, Ontario. The match was a little too close for comfort for the 26-year-old from Montreal.

"Tyler was coming off two tough matches in the qualifying round so I have to admit I may have been a bit too confident," said Delierre. "But he made some nice shots and got me a little bit worried. I’m certainly going to approach my next match with a different mindset. I really want to do well here."

Delierre will face Martin Knight of New Zealand. The seventh seed eliminated Robin Clarke of Kanata, Ontario.

Phillips, seeded eighth, beat qualifier Cesar Salazar of Mexico in the maximum five games. Phillips faces fourth seed Campbell Grayson of New Zealand in his quarterfinal. Grayson bounced Dave Glass of Winnipeg.

Top-seed Daryl Selby of England, ranked 25th in the world, defeated Reggie Schonborn of South Africa, while second-seed and world number-38 Jonathan Kemp of England took Steve Finitsis of Australia in straight games; fifth-seed Bradley Hindle of Australia beat Dane Sharp of Ajax, Ont. with Sharp pulling up in the third game.

Sixth-seed Robbie Temple of England defeated Andrew McDougall of Calgary.
