ODESUR (South American Games)

The South American games just finished in Colombia. The countries from Panama to Argentina took part of the games that completed the Olympic circle of the region.

Men

The four players with the best world ranking did their job getting to the podium of the South American Games. For this event four of the five top South American players on the PSA rankings achieved the medals in the 10th South American Games, that for the first time had squash among the sports taking part in it. They were:

GOLD - Miguel Angel Rodriguez (Col) 26 PSA
SILVER - Rafael Alarcon (Bra) 41 PSA
BRONZE - Bernardo Samper (Col) 66 PSA & Esteban Casarino (Par) 108 PSA



Women

On the ladies side the gold medal was won by Nicoleete Fernandes from Guyana, who defeated Silvia Angulo fron Colombia in the final.
The podium was as follow:

GOLD - Nicolette Fernandes (GUY)
SILVER - Silvia Angulo (COL)
BRONZE - Antonella Falcione & Cecilia Cerquetti (ARG)



The participation of the squash in these games is a very important achievement in vie of the sport's Olympic dream. Squash also takes part in the Panamerican Games that includes countries from Canada to Argentina.
