28-Sep-2010:
A new court for Omar

Remember a few months ago we posted an advert for Jos Aarts' unique portable court ...

Well the response was good, and the court has now found itself a proud new owner ...

All about the Court

Mr Omar ElBorolossy, former professional top ten squash player and now President and Managing Director of EngiSports, is now the proud owner of the one of a kind, perspex mobile squash court.

The court, ready for play within four hrs after arrival, was erected for the last time in Holland in the presence of ( a freezing!) Mr ElBorolossy during a local community event due to the opening of a mosque in the city of Hoofddorp.

"I am really happy and impressed how fast the court was erected yesterday. We have big plans with this court. Squash in Egypt is booming, we are opening a third branch of our squash centre in Cairo soon.

"The court will be used at least once a month for promotional activities, and we are studying the possibility to put it in a permanent location when it is not on tour," said the friendly giant, smiling as always.

Omar had then his first hit on his new toy. And as almost any Egyptian, found the nick in no time!

Former owner Jos Aarts had mixed feelings over the weekend.

"It is sad in Holland we don't see the value of an instrument like this and what it can do for squash. For the last couple of years it was only rented out once, maybe twice a year.

"One of the highlights was the "hit and run" thing we did at the Dam Square in front of the Royal Palace last year to promote the Women's World Open that year.

"We build the court, had the exhibition and took it down again, all this in a 12 hour time slot. No court in the world can do that!

"But it just didn't make enough money to pay the rent for the shed it was stored in. From our ad on SquashSite we had over 30, more or less serious, inquiries from all over the world. But I am really happy it is going to a country where the squash scene is very much alive. Omar is a visionary man, I am sure I will see a picture of "my" court at the pyramids soon!!"
