Rain stops play
in BrazilWith the
semi-finals set to move on to the all glass court in Sao Paulo, the
action was prematurely halted during the first game of the Miguel
Angel Rodriguez v Rafael Alarcon match.
 Play
was moved back to the indoor courts, where, according to women's top
seed Samantha Cornett, "the guys took SO LONG that we just
went on beside them. It's so hot on the courts, and the tin is 19."
Rodriguez went on to dash home hopes with a 3/1 victory over Alarcon,
and will meet second seed Jan Koukal in the final, while Cornett
squeezed past Wales's Tesni Evans 3/2 to set up a final with
Brazil's own Thaisa Serafini,
"Maybe we'll get on the glass court tomorrow" concluded a hopeful
Cornett.
