Top Seeds Seeking Seoul Success

The top two seeds Annie Au and Low Wee Wern will do battle for the Seoul Open title after coming through today's semi-finals.

Au, the event favourite from Hong Kong, clinched her third successive straight games win in the event with an 11-8, 11-4, 11-7 victory over Malaysia's fourth seed Delia Arnold.

The 21-year-old world No21 already has three Tour titles under her belt this year - and was runner-up in last month's Asian Games in China.

In the other semi-final, Malaysia's second seed Low Wee Wern stopped third seed Donna Urquhart. But the 20-year-old world No15 from Penang needed four games to overcome the Australian, ranked just a single place below, 11-6, 11-8, 7-11, 11-7.

Low Wee Wern will be appearing in her 11th Tour final, but her first this year.

The final will mark the two players' fourth WISPA Tour meeting since May 2007, with Au boasting a 3/0 head-to-head lead.

Matsui Makes Seoul Quarters

Chinatsu Matsui claimed a surprise place in the quarter-finals of the Seoul Open after a straight games victory over eighth seed Kylie Lindsay in the opening round of the event in its fourth year in Seoul in South Korea.

The unseeded 33-year-old from Japan defeated New Zealander Lindsay 11-7, 13-11, 11-7 at the Kimpo Airport Shopping Mall, and will now line up against Donna Urquhart for a place in the last four.

Australian Urquhart, the No3 seed, beat Japan's Misaki Kobayashi 12-10, 11-6, 8-11, 11-3.
