17-Dec, Quarters & Semis:
Top four Seeds bow out in
Bratislava upsets
The top four seeds had all won through to the
quarter-finals in Bratislava, but only two made it through to
the semis after English brothers Chris and Mark Fuller were both
beaten in upset results.
Top-seeded Dutchman Piedro Schweertman came through in
four games against France's Benjamin Aubert, and he'll face
unseeded Mohamed Alsarraj after the Jordanian youngster
beat fourth seed Mark Fuller in four games.
Third-seeded Spaniard Bernat Jaume also won through in
four games against Dutchman Marc ter Sluis, while local wildcard Balázs Farkas
produced a
big upset in beating second seeded Chris Fulleer in straight
games.
There were more upsets in the semis as Alsarraj came from
one-two down to beat Schweertman - saving match ball in the
fourth - while Farkas also prevailed in
five, 11/9 in the fifth after 92 minutes.
