THE FRENCH ARE COMING…
 Don’t
even think of calling the Internationaux de France the
French Open, we are quite touchy about it since, as our FFSquash
President often says, we call the « British Open » the « British
Open », and not « Le Britanique Ouvert ».
So, here is the brand new draw for the event, with Greg
Gaultier top seed, and James Willstrop seed number
two. Good news from the French point of view, our French number
1 and 2 are not in the same half, but on the other hand, our
number 3 Renan Lavigne is playing our Wild Card Greg Marche.
Can’t win them all I guess…
But some nice matches in the first round already, with a
Nick
Matthew just back from injury (he is making his 'debut' in
the Dutch Forexx in a few days) who’ll be opposed to our
favourite Fiery Italian (not to mention the only one!) Davide
Bianchetti, or Jonathan Kemp against Borja Golan,
and not to forget Joey Barrington against eighth seed
Miguel Angel Rodriguez, who by the way I’ve never seen play
in Europe.
OK, no Egyptians or Australians in the main draw, but some in
the qualifiers, along with representatives from India, England,
France, Brazil, Czech Republic, Holland, Hungary, Germany and
South Africa.
So, a good draw overall for our First French Open
Internationaux de France for a bleeping long time. See you all
in MY country for once…

Les voilà, les tableaux, tout frais, tout chaud de la PSA, avec
une excellente nouvelle pour nous les bleus, à savoir que le
Kid ne pourra rencontrer le Patron qu’en finale.
Par contre, beaucoup beaucoup moins bon, Renan, notre
numéro trois, devra affronter ‘Tit Greg, notre Wild Card
dès le premier tour. Pffffff, c’est une conspiration, j’vous dis…
De très beaux matches déjà prévu dès le premier tour, avec une
confrontation Nick Matthew (tout juste de retour après sa
blessure/opération à l’épaule, il fait sa rentrée au Dutch
Forexx dans quelques jours) contre le Flamboyant Italien
Davide Bianchetti, aussi un match qui s’annonce serré
Borja Golan contre Jonathan Kemp, sans oublier
Joey Barrington, surnommé Marathon Joey, contre l’excellent
Colombien Rodriguez.
Et puis, si le tableau final est très européen à part la
présence d’un Sud Américain Miguel Angel Rodriguez, les
qualifications elles, seront très cosmopolites, avec des
représentants d’Égypte, d’Australie, de France, d’Angleterre, du
Brésil, de la République Tchèque, de la Hollande, de la Hongrie,
de l’Allemagne, et de l’Afrique du Sud.
Alors, je vous conseille de venir dès les qualifs, car je pense
que la bataille va être RUDE !!! Allez, à plus, à Paris, mes
petits…

HERE WE GO, HERE WE GO...
Mes
amis, depuis le temps qu'on se l'attend, ce tournoi à Paris...
Eh bien, le voilà. Les billets sont maintenant ouverts à la
vente, et vous allez avoir l'occasion de vous régaler tout
bientôt...
Qui jouera? Bien, sans doute du beau monde, et en tout cas, à
moins de blessure, je suis sûre que tous les français répondront
présents. Je vous tiendrais au courant des inscriptions...
Nous, c'est à dire Sitesquash (partenaire officiel des
Internationaux), et SquashSite, assureront la couverture "à la
minute", comme vous avons l'habitude de le faire sur tous les
évènements internationaux...
Si vous n'avez pas déjà votre place, je vous conseille de vous
magner le clavier, parce qu'il n'y en aura sans doute pas pour
tout le monde...
PARIS, NOUS VOILA...
Yop. You've been a lot to ask me "so, when will we have a PSA
in Paris". Well, there you go. You can purchase a ticket, you've
got 3 or 4 day passes, you can buy per session, etc... And
the price ranges from very affordable to a bit less affordable...
No news on the Tournament Hotel yet, will let you know asa we
hear more.
Last thing... Sitesquash, our French Branch, is Official Partner
of the event, and Steve and I will be covering it live from
Paris in two languages...
So, come on, what are you waiting for... A little weekend in
Paris, good squash, excellent food, plenty of sightseeing...

Back to Paris ....
Après de nombreuses années
d'absence, la France revient dans le calendrier mondial du
Squash avec une épreuve homologuée PSA et dotée de 62 400 $.
C'est Paris qui accueillera du lundi 22 au samedi 27 septembre
les INTERNATIONAUX DE FRANCE DE SQUASH.
Dernière épreuve mondiale avant les Championnats du Monde
Individuel à Manchester (mi octobre 2008), les Internationaux de
France de Squash sont idéalement positionnés et constituent
ainsi un rendez-vous incontournable de toute l'élite mondiale du
Squash.
After a number of years' absence, world class squash returns to
France with the Internationaux de France, a $62,400 PSA
event set to take place in Paris from 22nd to 27th September.
The last major event before the World Open in Manchester in
mid-October, the Internationaux de France is ideally
positioned and constitutes an unmissable date for all the
world's top players ...
